Bonnie Sowder Taylor Heirloom Quilt Collection

Bonnie highly valued these quilts, and would have loved to have seen them enjoyed by others.

The intention of this “collection” is that the quilts of Bonnie Sowder Taylor be the property of the collection.  They can be “borrowed” for any period of time by Bonnie’s family, but are to be returned to the collection when no longer wanted by the borrower.

Thus, they are not to be sold, and when cleaning or repairs are needed, they are to be returned to the collection for that purpose.

The borrower should be aware of the fragile nature of these old quilts.  They are to be used in “display” situations only.  THUS…They should not be used as furniture throws, should not be sat upon or leaned against, should not be in a place that pets can reach them, and should not be actively used on beds as blankets...they should be removed from beds before anyone sleeps in the bed.

Storage of quilts outside of the collection should be folded inside of an all-cotton cloth protector (as a pillow case), or for long-term in an acid-free box with acid-free paper between folds of the quilt.  Try to fold the quilt differently each time it is folded.  Avoid a high humidity or high temperature environment.

If you should decide you no longer wish to use a quilt, please return to the collection and/or exchange for another.

Bill will do a website for the quilts that will include a photo, information about the quilt, and who has it “checked out.”
